From software to relays, Utility Systems, Inc. ™ offers customers a variety of accessories to meet all digital fault locating and disturbance monitoring needs.

USIMaster™ (DAS)
The USIMaster© Data Analysis Software (DAS) is capable of interfacing with Disturbance Monitoring Equipment (DME). USIMaster is used to, manually or automatically, retrieve and display COMTRADE-formatted fault records from the Model 2002 Disturbance Monitoring Equipment (DME) and provide analysis tools for use on the displayed data. USIMaster© DAS also can retrieve time sequenced data from the Model 3002 Sequence of Events Recorders (SERs); generate and edit configuration files, and displays diagnostic reports. An optional feature of the USIMaster© automatically correlates Disturbance Monitoring Equipment (DME) fault records with lightning strikes and generates an event summary. This summary is retained as a part of the records summary and a copy is sent via E-mail.
One or more installations of USIMaster may be utilized in the overall system to operate multiple DMEs. Communication may be done through a Local Area Network/Wide Area Network, through analog telephone lines using a wide array of Windows™ compatible modems, or through an RS-232 serial bus. The USIMaster© application may also be used to program remote DMEs to send Quick Summary information, complete DFR, SER, DDR, and Continuous Data to the Master Station automatically within seconds of an occurrence. This data includes critical information such as triggered analog channels, triggered digital channels, fault ID number (FID), date, time, fault length, time sync status, and distance to the fault. USIMaster© also performs detailed fault analysis on complete fault data and can print the data graphically with a wide choice of options.
The software is menu-driven and provides on-line help. The latest USIMaster© software is compatible with any operating system from Windows 7 through Server 2012.
The USIMaster© software is provided free of charge to users of USI systems. It may be downloaded from the US Customer Portal.

USIPhasor View ™
USIPhasorView© is a software tool used to view IEEE C37.118 formatted communications and to display phasor data, configuration, and header information. There are four working screens in the application: Communication, Polar View, Linear View , and Header Frame.
The Communication screen is used to configure connection details for communication to PMU devices. Once configured, PhasorView© connects and requests the PMU configuration and data stream. The Polar View screen charts selected phasors in polar format. Data quality, Frequency, and Delta Frequency are available to be viewed. The Linear View screen is used to chart frequency, analog, or digital values. The Header View screen displays configuration as received from the PMU. Data received can also be saved in .csv format for post analysis.

USI Lightning Strike ™ (LGT)
Utility Systems, Inc. is the only DME manufacture to develop lightning correlation. By working with lightning records, proprietary algorithms, and existent Fault Location technology, USI's DMEs can cut a utility's downtime that might have been caused by a lightning strike by providing protection engineers with confirmation that a fault occurred due to lightening and exactly where the lightning struck the existent transmission line. No longer will utilities have to spend days of down time, searching for the location a lightning strike took place. Instead, the confirmation can be on your desktop within minutes via email and you and your team can get to working on getting the transmission line back up and running in a fraction of a time it used to take.

USI Auto DC Transfer Switch
The USI Auto DC Transfer Controller is used in conjunction with substation primary and auxiliary battery systems to provide an uninterruptable DC source. The DC Transfer Controller has two isolated inputs for the substation batteries; it then maintains an output voltage from either available source.

USI ISOLATION POWER SUPPLY
The USI Isolation Power Supply is a high efficient 19" rack mounted DC-to-DC converter. It provides isolated, regulated DC outputs. It is fanless design which results in zero maintenance, and is useful in a wide range of substation applications.

Trip Indicating Relay (TIR)
Constructed inside a rugged, high-dielectric case with terminal studs that provide outstanding quality connections, the USI™ Trip Indicating Relay (TIR) is just one of several USI™ premier accessories. The USI™ TIR features millisecond actuation, high current capability, low resistance, and high switching capacity. While being both low cost and simple to install, the TIR has multiple functions including alarm indication, annunciation, event recoding, breaker, relay, and communication.

A USI™ TIR is activated by sensing the presence of current in a trip coil. The trip coil handles extreme current overloads and features a high-speed contact closure time. Its special design is ideal for use with protective relays and circuits associated with DMEs (specifically the DFR application). To fit your company’s specific needs, USI™ TIRs are available in multiple arrangements, both pre-manufactured (see images to the right), and customer-specific.

The USI CTR-1001 is a high accuracy solid-core current transformer for very low phase shift. These auxiliary CTs are useful in many monitoring applications such as Disturbance Monitoring Equipment (DME) and Digital Fault Recording (DFR) inputs as well as metering applications.
